Here is a guest post from our good buddy Callum in Melbourne, Australia.
Hey this is my bike, it’s used for riding the streets of Windsor to work on nice days, and the occasional long distance adventure. I grew up riding mountain bikes downhill so I like to get pretty aggressive sometimes, and i like good brakes. I’ve spent the last few years refining this rig and with the new frame I feel like it is just about perfect now.
It’s a Cinelli gazzetta from china in a ‘big boy’ 60cm size, yeah the seat towers over children and small adults, I gots long legs. I have a Thomson elite 90mm x 15deg upside down for an effectively ‘flat’ stem, with some 2.5″ rise eastons cut to 550mm to balance good control with ‘slip between cars-ability’. I use Odyssey bmx levers with SRAM Apex calipers, awesome skid/panic power there and cheap too! Got some Hillbrick branded ISIS track cranks, look good, feel good. Made in oz!! Fyxomatosis chainring, worth every cent, it’s only a chainring but it does it’s job extremely well…49×19 gearing, pretty low gear but I like to sprint off the line and I don’t mind a fast cadence when motoring. Gran Compe track hubs I picked up on my honeymoon to Tokyo, laced em up to Deep V’s, I have done some bad thing’s to these wheels and they have not wavered. I’ve also installed super-secret internal cable routing for the rear brake, zip-ties looked horrible.
I’m really enjoying the current setup, it feels great hopping curbs, popping wheelies and skidding like a 12 year old on a coaster brake.
Lets go riding!!!!!
wow, that’s a super awesome bike.
and that boy’s not too bad either.
Are those jeans from savers?
Hi! How did you route the rear brake cable? Was it difficult?
