Winter ShRad.

Radness, Winter

It is now the time of year (for the saner folk) to put the bike deep into storage and to pull out the skis/snowboard/sled/snow shoes or even nordic walking poles and get your shred/walk on!!

For Paul and I this will be our exciting comeback  to the winter activity scene. Our 2010/11 season was spent mostly in rehab and recovery after both undergoing much needed knee surgery at the end of November. The 2011 bike season for both of us was for the most part injury free which put us in good stead for a bomber winter. Winter shredding has been a huge part of both our lives in Canmore and it was so ridiculously  awesome to get back into in full force after only 1 season on the bench (so to speak). This may not be biking but it is just as fun! Some early season shots with great friends…and more to come throughout this surely epic winter!

Opening weekend at Lake Louise. Not epic necessarily but fun. Jimmy a little overwhelmed by it all.

Sneak opening weekend at Revelstoke mountain…promising to be epic? 6am start for lineup.

Our weapons of choice Burton Fish, Jones Hovercraft, LibTech Banana Magic, Salomon Grip.

Tim Auger, man of mystery, an enigma wrapped in a riddle.

Captain Jordan….Shred pirate and powder buccaneer.

Oh my!!! first on the the Ripper chair.

Knee deep stoke laps left us speechless..we literally had no speech.Grunts and hand flailing were our only means of communication.

Attack of La Ninjas!!!! Alex and Jordan getting their Ka-pow on !!

             Midday and still sooo deeep!!

Thanks Revy…you just blew my mind

Self portrait, top of Divide, Sunshine, AB

         Beautiful.

                Eric/a syncro scream up Standish.

Jimmy up at Spray Lakes getting all crossed up.

Sequence soon to be cover of skier mag.

                  Road side hucking.

                Check out them sweet turns.

Winter in the Bow Valley……….AGAIN!

Radness, Winter

We are blessed to live in such a magnificent place here in the Bow Valley. Having said that, blessings don’t seem to exist with out some sort of curse. In our particular case its WINTER,DOAH!

Here we find ourselves on the 27th of May(spring in most places) and we are awoken to a good 4-6″ of fluffy white stuff covering bikes, streets, trails and everything it can get its greedy little flakes on. It covers all and regress’s our bike  season yet again. Just when you think the trails are good………wrong answer.

Though, our spirits are always kept alive by those who continue on and triumph over adversity.

It is always a smile brought to our face when we see some one who continues to ride their bike in all conditions.

Keep on pedaling!
