Many of you know the feeling of waiting……. for that special day that only comes once a year, if we are lucky. Its possibly the most wonderful day of the year and a day that is filled with something so special its hard to describe. You might say, my birthday, or christmas maybe, but you are wrong! Its NEW BIKE DAY! The greatest day a year can have!
After a month of anticipation and waiting, for my newly ordered bike to show up. The anticipation, excitement and constant itching to ride finally came to an end,NEW BIKE DAY!
The other day i received my brand new 2011 Rocky Mountain Slayer 70! this is a bike i have read great reviews about and heard great things about first hand and am looking forward to giving a rigorous test of my own to.
Having little to no patience at all i took to building it up right away and getting it set up perfectly. My new shred machine!
The 2011 Slayer, having been completely redesigned for the 2011 season this is a machine that is ready to tackle everything you can throw at it. burley enough to send it off some hefty booters and all the chair lift fun you can send at it, and light enough to tackle an epic trail rides or an xc death march. Accomplishing all this while leaving the rider with a giant smile the whole way.
The Slayer 70 comes with a sweet build consisiting of:
Formula The One stoppers (brakes)
Sram X-9 cogs and clickers (shifters/derailleurs)
Fox talas R and Fox Rp23 for squishy components(suspension)
Easton hand and butt supports( bar/stem/post)
Cane creek wheel turner (headset)
Eethirteen/The Hive double+basher pedal pushers (cranks)
Fizik gobi butt cushion(seat)
Wheeltech/dt EX500 rolley things(wheels)
All these sweet bits add up to a 30lb AM shred machine, ready for anything. For any one who is short on room or isn’t allowed to have multiple bikes, this is a perfect quiver killer. condense the collection into one sick ride.
We still have snow on all the trails, but a review of the ride will come shortly. Stay tuned!
