Well, its finally happened…..Summer Solstice! and to celebrate the longest days of the year, we had 2011’s first Rad Bike Cruiser Ride. And what a ride it was.

For our first one of the year and minimal notice we had a great turnout….15 riders.

With better then we had expected for a turn out due to  last minute planning. We met up outside the shop, made sure all bikes were up to snuff, got the riders and supplies together and took off.

The ride started off with some great weather and some riding shinanigans by the resident jokers.

We were graced with the groovin sounds of DJ Greggie Sarg.

Being a cruiser ride we traveled along at a nice mellow pace and took a few breaks to enjoy the late rays of sun.

After a quick break off we went again Banffward.

Along the way we took some time to frolic in the wonderful flowers…….

we stopped at the hazardous matting laid down to keep the walkers energy levels up with a  motivational jolt of energy.

Being careful to not get shocked ourselves we made it past and on to banff.

We rolled into Banff in style doing a lap down Banff ave tothe Devils Gap for a refreshment.

The ride back was in the dark and full of fun times.

Rad Bike Cruiser rides will be a common event in the Bow Valley, we encourage all riders of age to join in the biking fun.

The next ride is Sunday July 3rd 5:30 at Outside Bike and Ski, hope to see everyone out.
