This year at Outside Bike we added a new bike company to our already strong line. Intense Cycles have been fabricating amazing race bikes by hand out of California for the past 21 years. Over the years they have had huge success in the downhill race world with there M series of bikes (M1,M3,M6 and now the M9FRO) but also have some amazing all mountain,trail killers made from both aluminium and carbon. VPP powered suspension gives Intense bikes a super plush ride, great cornering capabilities and immense speed in a straight line.

Ive been riding a Intense 951 for the past 2 years and have absolutley loved it. It handled everything I could throw at it from high speed single track of Mount Seven to steep technical rock and wood of Squamish and the North Shore and everything in between. A great bike. But recently I have got my hands on there latest Dh creation, an M9FRO a logical upgrade (in my mind anyway) from my old bike. She’s built up and ready to go..if only the trails were ready too.

This bike doesn’t come stock with an air shock. I ran one on my 951 and really enjoyed it. VPP suspension is notoriously plush I guess is the best way to describe it. You sit very deep in the travel which makes jumping a little more work. The air shock livens up the initial part of the 9 inches of travel on the M9 making it a bit more playful and also drops the overall weight of the build.
