Interbike, North Americas largest bike show has come to an end for another year. Luckily for us we were able to pack our things, leave beautiful Canmore and head to a different kind of beautiful? Las Vegas for a couple of days. We basically spent most of the time in bike geek heaven! All the new product, bikes and free stickers one could handle…and some slightly confused promo girls who looked great but had no idea what they were pushing! Awesome….oh yeah and we had some drinks………..and then this happened.
The lineup to get your pass was concerning to say the least
Evan and josh. Two giant kids in a creepy candy shop.
The one and only Steve Peats Santa Cruz v10. This bike was so colour co ordinated it hurt.
Greg Minnaars steed. This thing still had its world cup dirt on it. I don’t know how much you have to pay US customs to let that slide! Note the gnarly shim stack on the stem.
MRPs new G3 guide. Single solid plastic lower assembly and carbon back plate drop the grams. Also has a neat easy install set up.Less small parts=less mechanics swearing…win win.
Digital suspension?? oh my. I suggested voice activated controls but Shimano didn’t seem to agree. It was pretty incredible though.
So many pretty hoops!
It just got a little too much for me really….quick sit down and i was good to go.
Maybe being a little bias….nahh! this was honestly one of the nicest looking bikes at the show. Rocky Mountains Altitude  790 MSL.Full Carbon frame, 650B wheels, dropper post, 27ish lbs…rad!
Neat!
Evan getting his aero steez on!!!!
Evan soon after testing the GORE jacket and pant combo in their super high tech hydrogen/oxygen rich booth…..it was water i think.
Sombrios sick indoor pump track..A new edition to the “when i win the lottery ” list.
Commuter colours.
Settling down for some good ol fashioned late night ales!!!
This one is for you Jody Johnson!! Finally!!! WD-40 has broke into the lube market.
Nothing like a cold sink full of refreshments to keep you motivated.
Some how we ended up in a lot of limos? …vegas!!
This bike was light….9.13 lbs fully built to be precise.Be careful when riding in a cross wind.
The Surly mascot keeping an eye on things. The dude was kinda a jerk…just saying.
The PK Ripper..circa 80’s.. but still looking fresh.
Not a bicycle…The GoPro booth was big. Big enough to house a rally edition porsche in it.
Combining to great loves. Beer and biking. The housing for the tap fits most styles of pump heads…. booze cruise anyone?
The world of dropper posts have exploded in the past 2 years. Proving I guess that they are not just a fad. Some worked well, some..not so well. This one may be worth waiting for. Thomson has always delivered precision components and this post should be no different.
Bird of prey.
Steve Smiths world cup winning Devinci.. she looks fast. Complete with prototype rear shock.
Also prototype rubber from schwalbe.
This thing oozed class. Wooden built bikes from Renovo. Put on your tweed jacket and pour yourself a scotch and ride!
Park Tools first repair stand. I suggested they bring them back into production. It would give your local bike mechanic that “ye olde” feel that I think a  lot of shops are lacking.
Who needs 29er when you’ve got….54er??
One of the sweet rigs on the history of bmx wall. RAD!!
Its the little things that count. The small tool you receive when you buy a Twenty6 pedal.
His and hers.
The new 35mm easton bar/stem standard hasn’t totally taken off yet but I’m sure it will. People will hear the words lighter and stiffer and be all over it….haha …..stiffer.
Intense Hard Eddie 29er
Beautiful lines from Intense Cycles
I see a work trike but I also see a way to carry a lot more beer than is usually possible on one bike.
Frame builders are getting good…This bike mmmmmmmwood.
This lil beauty will be out 2013 from Electra. God save our Queen!!!
LIke a Boss!!
We still both think after wandering around the show for two days that this was the nicest looking ride we could find. The BMC Impec Lamborghini Edition. 30 produced total at around 20,000 euro ($25000 CAD) these puppies are not cheap. That leather on the saddle and bar and orange paint, also happen to be stock from the Lamborghini factory. Ill take one please.
Looking forward to this next year. The new endure style helmet from Bell.
Nothing like wailing on a bike frame to relieve yourself of unwanted stress. This guy was in there for a while.
colourful bits
Not sure if there is room in the market for another drivetrain company? But good on them for trying. There product looks way better than what i came up with.
The new Zee component line from Shimano. Saint on a budget so you know its good.
If Darth Vader road crit…He would probably ride this. BMC Time Machine.
Tonnes o’ pumps by Lezyne.
The name most synonymous with road racing. Merckx.
This pedal combo was impressive 130-135 grams for the set! Weight weenies rejoice!
No more flats…The solid rubber tire is here!
Oh man, these booze cruise are just going to get more and more ridiculous.
De Kerf
New colours on a new bike. Rockys long travel 29er . The Instinct.
The little square link gives the rider options. Different head angles, BB heights and shock feel. This is definitely “quick adjustment” done well by Rocky Mountain Bikes.
Thinking this might be a popular park bike with the kids next year. The RMB SS.
This booth was a buzz all day. New bikes, lots of carbon and some rad people helped that.
Beer and lights and singing pianos makes me angry….apparently.
Good bye vegas. How I will miss your backwards rules and mexican brothel pushers. Your cheap beer and even cheaper looking decor. See you next year for Interbike 2…maybe.
