Working in the bike industry doesn’t often give me the opportunity to take a weekend off and enjoy some riding with my 9-5 buddys. So when I am presented with the chance to do so i take it.
We filled the truck with bikes, beer and all he other ingredients for a wicked good time!
First zone: Sun Peaks bike park, Kamloops, Bc.
We took the back road at Chase and found a sweet camp spot along the way to cut off some driving time. The back road is sweet, but a 4×4 is definitely recomended.
Sun peaks is a resort not worth missing,
full of sick jumps,
rad steeps
and super high speed runs.
After riding 5 or 6 laps we were greeted with a crazy downpour of rain, which promptly cancelled our day of lift access biking.
The rain cloud seemed to be circling leaving some sweet spots untouched. We headed across the valley for a lap on RIO, or so we thought. just as we started onto the shuttle road the rain had tracked us down and ruined our run by flooding the landscape. Though it made the fire road a bit more sporty with some deep puddles!
Next stop was base camp at Harper Mountain. We set up camp and headed out for a few laps that lead us right to our campsite.
A ripping super fun single track.
We had a bit of a shuttle mishap.(no bikes were harmed in the making of this picture.)
Aiden coming down the steeps.
Aiden…. Down after the steeps.
Keith…not cleaning….strange..
As a result of the rain the day before the group decided that it was worth riding the ski hill again he next day. So back to Sun Peaks we went for a full day of fun.
Having not had our fill at the resort we figured we would go get redemption on RIO. And that we did.
Keith heading for the goods.
With perfect sun and tacky conditions the run was sick to say the least.
Curtis in black and white.
loads of hips and transfers are all over RIO if you have the eye for it.
Keith finishing off a great lap.
Our next stop brought us to Silver Star, but we were having too much fun to stop for pictures. After a rad day in Vernon it was off to Revy to camp at the top of Martha Creek.
Martha creek camp spot.
Some art work my truck collected.
Epic morning views.
We had a sweet cloudless skys.
We woke up to beauty weather for some laps.
Curtis ripping.
Al………..so fast.
Keith, Aiden and Curtis…. Alpine meadow action.
Keiths amazing anti theft idea……available in stores everywhere.
We finished off the trip with a few laps on Boulder.
A great trip overall with no major injuries and no major mechanicals.
