Custom build week! Intense 951/Carbine SL

Bike Build, Radness

Over the last week or so we have been inundated with customer requests for custom high end bike builds….well not inundated, we had to do two but thats still a lot for one week!. Both rigs came curtosy of Intense Cycles, and both very different.

One was an Intense 951, a step up for our friend who has been riding a slope style bike for the last few years and the other a full XTR built Carbine SL, the new full carbon offering from Intense. Both beautiful bikes, both very fun to build!

INTENSE 951

Allys new whip waits patiently in the background

The Intense slope style was no slouch..her new bike does offer her a lil more travel and a more relaxed head angle and longer wheel base.

The Chris King wheel set really sets this bike apart from others…the sound of killer bees that emanates from the hubs is mesmerising!!

A mess of tools and parts..nothing like a good ol part swap

Avid Codes will be the force behind Allys stopping power.

A beautiful finish.Sub 40lbs and fast. She is gonna love this.

INTENSE CARBINE SL

This is the first of these frames I have seen anywhere. Little brother, or sister if you will to the Carbine this bike has shed some crucial weight making it a 5lb frame!  Ti bolts, quick release rear and a carbon link help make this happen.

Although technically the red paint adds weight, I don’t care..It looks amazing

On go the parts..Full XTR build. Wheels, DT, brakes…everything

Don’t forget the bling. Chris King headsets come with a 10 year bearing warranty.

                         Thomson post. Strong and light

RaceFace SixC Bar. Wider than your stock XC bar but this will help with control.

The faithful Schwalbe Racing Ralph rear/ Nobby Nic front….a shop favourite.

Fully Built 24.5 lbs, such a beautiful bike!
